Join the TALL executive board on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 for a meeting and vote to decide what name the Toronto Association of Law Libraries should operate under moving forward. Members who attend will have an opportunity to voice their comments and concerns before a formal vote at the end of the meeting.

The Executive is proposing a change to the association name to include Ontario, rather than Toronto. This is meant to reflect the growing membership we have seen from across Ontario and to explore connections with colleagues outside Toronto. Many of our offerings are virtual, such as the Lunch and Learns and Coffee Roulette, and continue to be well attended. As such, there are many opportunities to connect with the membership without having to be located in Toronto. The interest from those outside of Toronto who have joined the Association shows there is value in TALL for professionals who live and/or work beyond the city. The purpose of a name change to include Ontario is to show the Association is inclusive to those outside of Toronto as well, which may not seem obvious. This could provide the opportunity to reach others who can offer the Membership diverse experiences, ideas for programming and other opportunities to connect.

The choices presented during this special vote will be:

1. Ontario Association of Law Libraries (OALL) OR (OnALL) OR (OntALL)
2. Ontario Law Libraries Association (OLLA) OR (OnLLA) OR (OntLLA)
3. Law Libraries Association of Ontario (LLAO)
4. None of the Above/Keep the TALL name
